Quest Construction awarded Glenner Alzheimer Center in Hillcrest

San Diego, CA, February 16, 2004

Quest Construction in conjunction with Revint A Demolition is scheduled to begin demolition this week of the existing Glenner Alzheimer Center administrative offices to pave the way for the construction of the a brand new 4,600 square foot wood-framed two-story office building and attached parking lot. Framing by Brown Builders is expected to begin in mid March. The Center will include kitchen facilities, a library and a number of administrative areas. Quest Construction was chosen, in part, due to their familiarity with non-profit organizations.

The Alzheimer Center (which is located directly across the street from the existing administrative offices) and foundation received its name from George C. Glenner who was a research pathologist who made major contributions to the research and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the caring of patients and families affected by the disease.

The project was designed by Prater Architecture. Project consultants include SMR and Associates for structural, Haynal and Company for mechanical / plumbing, Nutter Electrical Design for electrical and landscape architect, The Kemp Company. Subcontractors include Panetti Construction, G. M. Rodney Plumbing, Awning Products, Banker Insulation, Continental Glass & Mirror, Foshay Electric, and Greater San Diego Air Conditioning.
